What happens if you add a Secondary MPN ID to a Reseller?
In CloudCockpit, it's possible to set multiple Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) IDs for a single Indirect Reseller.
It's not uncommon for Reseller companies to have in Microsoft Partner Center more than one MPN ID assigned to them, leaving subscriptions scattered through what appear to be different accounts. This feature is useful to consolidate all of their subscriptions under the same Reseller name in CloudCockpit.
A Reseller can have only one Primary MPN ID, but multiple Secondary MPN IDs.
When choosing the Primary MPN ID and Secondary MPN IDs in CloudCockpit keep in mind that:
- New subscriptions will be associated with the Primary MPN ID
- When performing operations (renewal, update quantity, etc) on existing subscriptions they will keep the MPN ID they had associated, unless you manually change the associated MPN ID for those subscriptions.
- Adding Secondary MPN IDs allow you to manage and consolidate subscriptions from different MPN IDs within a single Reseller account, providing a centralized view and better organization
