Conditional Access Policies

Conditional Access Policies

Azure Conditional Access Policies (CA) allow a Customer to implement security measures on their Azure tenant.
However, it's important to properly configure the Conditional Access Policies as they might block some important features in CloudCockpit, such as:
  1. Renaming Azure Entitlements
  2. Receiving Azure consumption alerts
  3. Renaming Azure Reservations
  4. Managing auto renew settings for Azure Reservations
Warning
Important: Auto renewal will appear incorrectly as OFF in CloudCockpit for Azure Reservations when Conditional Access Policies are ON.

How to configure Conditional Access Policies

These are the steps necessary for a Customer to have Conditional Access Policies in place and keep CloudCockpit fully functional:

1. Request your CSP their tenant ID
The CSP can find it on the "Instance Provider ID" column on the Administration > Providers page of their CloudCockpit portal.

2. Login to Microsoft Entra ID/Microsoft Entra admin center, formerly known as Azure Active Directory, with your (Customer tenant) credentials.

3. Navigate to Protection > Security Center > Conditional Access > Policies

4. Choose each of the active policies to open the editor and exclude the CSP tenant ID.
