Customer Company Info Rules

When creating a Customer account, the provided company info must comply with Microsoft's validation rules. Below are the specific requirements for each field.

Customer Company Name rules 

The following are not permitted for a Company Name:
  1. Using only one character
  2. Using only special characters, such as &$^#.
  3. Using only spaces and/or tabs
  4. Spaces or tabs mixed with individual characters, for example 1 2 3
  5. Using standalone abbreviations from the restricted list. Examples: LLC or INC. 
  6. The same character repeated three or more times, for example 999


Customer Primary Contact Name rules

When entering a customer primary contact's First Name, Middle Name, or Last Name:
  1. Don't use only one character (except for names in Chinese characters)
  2. Don't use placeholder, testing, or fake names, such as test, admin, or nobody
  3. Must not exceed 40 characters
  4. Can't contain only numbers, special characters, emojis, or nonprintable characters

Email address rules

The Email address provided for the customer must not:
  1. Contain @microsoft.com
  2. Use the same domain name as the Reseller. For example, a Reseller called ABC can't create a Customer email address ending with @abc.com
