Price Safeguard Settings

Price Safeguard Settings

These options allow CSPs (Indirect Providers) to establish overall rules to protect prices from margin and business rule variations.
They help prevent losses and avoid setting prices significantly above what customers can see on public websites.

The settings can be accessed in the CSP CloudCockpit portal by going to Administration > Settings > Invoicing

Microsoft Promotions

  1. Enable: Apply Microsoft promotions from your price list to your Customers or Resellers.
  2. Disable: Ignore Microsoft promotions and maintain your standard price list, potentially retaining that margin for yourself.

PEC Overcharge

  1. When this option is enabled, if a subscription is not eligible for Partner Earned Credit (PEC), the PEC will be charged on top of the ERP (Estimated Retail Price).
  2. The behaviour to overcharge in case a customer is not eligible for PEC was "on" by default, now we are giving CSPs the freedom to choose to overcharge if a customer is not eligible.

Markup Limit

  1. When enabled, this prevents applied margins from exceeding Microsoft's retail price (ERP).

Discount Limit

  1. When enabled, it prevents prices from going below the list price provided by Microsoft.
  2. This ensures CSPs don't incur losses, even if the Resellers or commercial team are granted the autonomy to offer special discounts for specific deals.

Margin over ERP for RIs

  1. When enabled, this allows the margin for Reserved Instances (RIs) to exceed the retail or public price.
  2. This applies to RIs created or renewed after January 1, 2023.
