Risk Center overview - CloudCockpit

Risk Center overview

CloudCockpit's Risk Center is where you can get an overview of risk management in the portal. This will help reduce your risk, by staying current on potential issues.

Risk Center monitor Azure consumption lag, Partner Earned Credit (PEC) eligibility and allows you to create and act on customizable Alert policies.
These help you to detect budget overruns, unusual consumption spikes, unauthorized subscription changes, and more—before they impact your business.

Alert policies

Why use alert policies?

  1. Prevent budget overruns and protect margins.
  2. Detect fraud or misuse through real-time anomaly detection.
  3. Control subscription changes and avoid surprises.
  4. Reduce churn by acting on early warnings.

How alert policies work

  1. Configure: Set up alert policies with custom thresholds and conditions. See Create and manage alert policies and Configure Azure entitlement budget
  2. Monitor: Risk Center continuously monitors Azure consumption and subscription operations.
  3. Alert: Receive instant email notifications when thresholds are exceeded. See Email alert notification in Review and act on alerts
  4. Act: Review and resolve issues before they impact your business. See Review and act on alerts

Azure consumption lag

Outdated Azure Subscription Consumptions

The alert features will not work if the consumptions are not up-to-date. A consumption is considered outdated when it hasn't been updated in the last 2 days.
To see a list of Azure Subscriptions that have outdated consumptions, go to Administration > Risk Center > Azure consumptions lag

Fixing outdated consumptions

In most cases, the reason why CloudCockpit can't fetch the consumptions is due to Azure Conditional Access policies, which block CloudCockpit from accessing Azure on your customers.
For more information, read our article on Conditional Access Policies.

PEC eligibility

In the Administration > Risk Center > PEC you have the list of Azure Subscriptions that do not have Partner Earned Credit (PEC) applied to them.
This can represent lost revenue when it comes to Azure subscriptions, due to not earning the credit offered by Microsoft.
To understand why subscriptions are missing PEC and how to fix it, please read the Microsoft guide on troubleshooting PEC.

Putting it all together

When you need a full view of Risk Center, go to the Overview tab to see:
  1. Key metrics: Track consumption issues and alert trends.
  2. Alert detailed information: Triggered conditions, thresholds, and resolution options.
